Overview
The Hutchinson Ports seeks that its ports of Balboa and Cristóbal have their own logistics zone, to diversify the consolidation and deconsolidation of cargo services. ZAL PPC is the new logistics zone located within the port of Balboa on the pacific side that will integrate port and logistics services in one place. It has a total capacity of 1,500 m2 located inside of port facilities to offer cross-docking. One of the advantages offered by the area is that cargo can be customized to different markets, so that Panama can be used to make inventories more flexible and reduce them.
In stage 2 of the park, ZAL are developed 3 warehouses with 10,000 m2 each for storage and value added services such as:
- Distribution center and value added services
- Assembly, repair and reconditioning operations
- BPO, ITO services
- Free Zone for transformation process
