Yearly Total
The period 2021-2022 registered an increase in the total number of containers handled by the main seaports in Panama.
The preliminary data obtained from the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) shows an aggregated volume of 8.45 million TEUs (does not include Almirante) for 2022.Total Yearly Container Movement (TEU)

Yearly by Seaport
Manzanillo is the leading seaport of the port complex with 2.7 million TEUs (32.5%) handled during 2022, followed by Balboa with 2.18 million TEUs (25.8%) and CCT with 1.44 million TEUs (17.1%).
The ports showed different growing rates comparing their annual throughput from 2021 to 2022. CCT had an increase of 37.1% between both years, however, MIT, Balboa, PSA and Cristobal decreased 2.5%, 6.6%, 4.7% and 12.8%, respectively. The average decrease rate of the port cluster was 0.3%.
