Internationally, Tocumen International Airport is the he most important airport in Panama.  Given Panama’s strategic geographic position, Copa Airlines uses Tocumen International Aiport as a main hub for connecting flights. Tourism is also affecting positively all local airports in Panama. Regional airlines such as Air Panama has been consistently growing and flying to new domestic destinations.  Local airports throughout the country have also been under expansion in order the accomodate the increasing number of visitors, such as Enrique A Jimenez in Colon, Enrique Malek in Chiriqui, Scarlett Martinez in Cocle and Panama Pacific in the Special Economic Zone that bears the same name.

Given the expectation of growth in the aviation industry in Panama, it is estimated that the airport will move 21 million passengers annually between the two terminals, by the year 2025.
