Metro Master Plan
The Metro Master Plan network takes into consideration the future growth of Panama City’s metropolitan area. The system will be composed of four lines, and a tram that will travel from Cinta Costera to Casco Viejo.
This master plan was presented in the initial demand study for tendering Line 1. This network is projected to be fully operational by 2035.
Line 2: On June 2, 2015, the award for the construction of line 2 was published. It will have a length of 21 kilometers of elevated track and will have 16 stations. It is expected to mobilize 16 thousand passengers per hour. It will have 21 trains of 5 wagons each.
Line 3: On April 20, 2016, financing for Line 3 will be made with Japan. Its approximate total length will be 34 kilometers. Depart from Albrook station and travel from Arraiján, Nuevo Chorrillo to Ciudad del Futuro.
